Delhi Capitals will be without Mitchell Starc for the remainder of IPL 2025, with the Australian pacer opting not to return to India for the tournament’s resumption, according to reports.

Starc has been Delhi’s leading wicket-taker this season, claiming 14 wickets in 11 matches. His absence opens up a longer preparation window ahead of the World Test Championship final.

The IPL was temporarily suspended due to escalating cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan.

Thirteen league matches remain, with the tournament set to resume on May 17, when Royal Challengers Bengaluru hosts Kolkata Knight Riders at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium — one of six approved venues for the rest of the season.

Delhi Capitals, chasing its maiden IPL title, will resume its campaign on May 18 with a home fixture against Gujarat Titans. DC currently sits fifth on the table and remains in contention for a playoff spot.

Meanwhile, fellow Australians Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins confirmed on Thursday that they will return for the rest of the season.
