Meanwhile, South African wicketkeeper, Rickelton is to be part of the World Test Championship (WTC) final preparations, ruling him out of Mumbai’s late-season plans. These unavailability’s have prompted the franchise to explore experienced options, with Bairstow and Gleeson reportedly in talks to join as replacements.

So far in 50 matches of IPL, he has scored 1589 runs and an healthy strike rate of 144.55.

Gleeson, a fast bowler with an impressive T20 profile is also being considered. Known for his pace, control, and wicket-taking ability during key phases of the game, Gleeson has been a standout performer in England’s domestic circuit. Also, he had a very short stint with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in previous seasons.
