It took place in the league jail. It was named “Jail Premier League”. It was organized in Mathura District Jail in Uttar Pradesh. Where this league was played among the prisoners.

Jail Premier League Match Report

The “Jail Premier League”, which started in April 2025, was attended by teams of eight jail barracks. After a total of 12 league matches and two semi -final matches, ‘Knight Riders’ defeated ‘Capitals’ in the final to win the title. During this, prisoner Kaushal won the title of ‘Player of the Match’ and ‘Player of the Series’ with his brilliant performance. At the same time, prisoner Bhura won the Orange Cap by scoring the most runs in the tournament and Pankaj was awarded the Purple Cap for taking the most wickets.

Why was the Jail Premier League played?

Jail Superintendent Anshuman Garg said that the purpose of this event was to give mental relief to the prisoners and bring positivity in their lives. “Many prisoners remain under stress due to health problems, long cases and family staying away from family. He said, the game has become a better medium to add and excite them.”

Indian Oil also supported and provided sports equipment in the event. The jail administration has also organized badminton and volleyball tournaments along with cricket.
