Virat Kohli joined the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) camp before the clash against the Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) on May 17. The retirement from the traditional format doesn't change the competitiveness of Kohli in cricket.

RCB director Mo Bobat stated that Kohli is focusing only on what he can do to give RCB new heights in the IPL and what Kohli can achieve with the RCB in IPL 2025.

Virat Kohli's Ambition in IPL 2025

RCB director discussed Virat Kohli's ambition in the pre-match press conference. Bobat stated that Kohli knew his business as always, and he didn't try to do new things.

Kohli wants to lift his maiden IPL trophy for himself and RCB. Currently, RCB are in second position and is pretty much the favourite to win the tournament.

Mo Bobat on Virat Kohli's Test career

The RCB director was in awe of Kohli's red-ball career as he and his franchise are proud of what Kohli has done in the longest form of the game.

"The first thing to say is Virat's business as usual, as he always is. There's enough of the public and the nation's attention on him, and he doesn't want any more of that. He's ambitious about what we can achieve this year with RCB and that's what he does," Bobat said.

"To play 120 plus Test matches and to score nearly 10,000 runs is no mean feat. Also as a captain, his record, 60 per cent win percentage or something like that as captain, again, no mean feat," Bobat stated.

Bobat was in England coaching staff when India toured England in 2018 and the entire nation witnessed the magic of Kohli on that tour.

He stated that no one wants to play against him, and whenever he is on the pitch or coming onto the ground, he gives trouble to the opposition.

Kohli hammered 593 runs in five Test matches at an average of 60. His masterclass on the England tour in 2018 was memorable for all the cricket fans.

The RCB director also recalled the fondest memory of watching Test cricket, and it was none other than the Edgbaston Test match when James Anderson and Kohli collided again, and Anderson bowled nine overs to Kohli in that innings.

But Virat Kohli overcame his weakness of outside off-stump delivery, and it was special for Bobat to witness the contest between two greats of the game.

Bobat is also confident that the fans will support Kohli with their heart out when Kohli enters the M. Chinnaswamy stadium.

Will RCB fans wear white jerseys in M. Chinnasway Stadium?

The rumours spread after Virat Kohli retired from Test cricket, and then some fans requested everyone who would be present in tonight's clash against KKR and RCB to wear the white jersey to honour Kohli's Test career.

"It's not something we've thought about or talked about too much. I've certainly noticed that the fans have been talking about that a little bit, but I don't think it'll have much of an impact on our play," Bobat added.

It is not confirmed that fans will wear the white jersey on May 17, but fans will honour their superstar on their home ground tonight. They will also be eager to win the match against KKR and become the first team to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
