Delhi: Kuldeep Yadav could not control his anger during the important Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium on May 18 between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT). The left-arms Chinaman bowler argued with the umpire after an LBW appeal, which is feared disciplinary action on him.

Disputed decision on googly

The incident occurred on the first ball of the 8th over of Gujarat’s innings. Kuldeep Yadav put a great googly, which dodged the batsman Sai Sudarshan. Delhi players made a strong appeal, but the field umpire Kyur Kelkar did not give out. After this, Kuldeep appealed to captain Akshar Patel to take DRS immediately.

‘Umpores call’ in DRS made an obstacle

The replay clearly showed that the ball was picked in the line and was directly on the pad. According to ball tracking, the ball was hitting the stumps, but was only ‘clipping’. For this reason, due to the ‘umpires call’, the umpire’s decision remained intact and the batsman was not out.

Anger expressed anger by going to the umpire

As soon as the third umpire repeated the verdict, Kuldeep Yadav moved towards umpire Kelkar and was seen arguing with them. He was trying to tell the umpire that the ball was missing and should have been given out by a very small margin.

The umpire handled the case peacefully

The field umpire did not take any harsh stance on Kuldeep’s response, showing restraint and pointed him to complete the over.

Code of Conduct violations can be punished

According to the Rules of the IPL, it is considered to be a violation of the code of conduct by publicly discontent on the decision of the umpire. In such a situation, Kuldeep can be taken action like fine or warning.

Delhi’s difficulties increased

Kuldeep’s displeasure was also justified as no wickets were taken in Delhi Powerplay. Gujarat openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan together beat up Delhi bowlers. 59 runs in the first six overs were scored without any loss.
