Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batter Abishek Porel highlighted the positivity mentor Kevin Pietersen brings to the franchise, even after DC's downfall in the race for playoff qualification in IPL 2025. Porel, who has been inconsistent in the ongoing IPL, reflected on Pietersen's mentorship during the team's difficult phases.

'The experience with Kevin Pietersen has been really good. He tells us what should be done and what shouldn't, and he always appreciates us when we do well but the biggest thing is the support he offers when things aren't going right. Not just him, the entire team management backs us during tough times and keeps reminding us that we still have a chance to bounce back,' he added.

Porel also said that the dressing room has a very positive and motivated enviroment. 'My experience with the team management has been good,' he said.

Delhi Capitals started the their IPL 2025 campaign on a positive note following four consecutive win. However, their form has drastically detoriated in the last eight matches. Their defeat against Guajart Titans who won the match with 10 wickets further crushed DC playoffs hopes.

DC is currently placed fifth on the points table with six wins, five losses, and one match with no result. They have two league-stage matches remaining, against Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings. To keep their playoff hopes alive, DC must win both games and rely on the results of other teams.
