Former India player Mohammad Kaif reacted to the verbal exchange between Abhishek Sharma and Digvesh Rathi in the LSG vs SRH match of the Indian Premier League 2025. Rathi, who has a habit of introducing different celebration styles, reacted aggressively after dismissing the Sunrisers opener. Abhishek, who is generally calm and composed, didn’t like the send-off and said something to the rival spinner.

This is when the situation escalated with both players trying to score a point over one another.

Abhishek signalled towards Rathi’s long hairdo before uttering something. Reacting to this footage, Kaif tried to decode what Sharma was trying to convey to the bowler.

“I saw this part of the fight for the first time. It seems Abhishek Sharma is saying that ‘I will grab your hair.’ I haven’t seen Abhishek losing his cool,” Mohammad Kaif said.

“Abhishek is an aggressive batter but he is not aggressive by nature. He takes out a paper to convey his message after scoring a hundred. Batters doesn’t like Rathi’s signature style. Abhishek felt bad as he scored a fifty-plus score but still Digvesh tried to be aggressive against him. However, it is good to see that they both patched up after the match,” he added.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers defeated Lucknow by 6 wickets to eliminate Pant’s team from the playoff race. Chasing 206 runs, the visitors completed the task in 18.2 overs, with Abhishek scoring 59 runs off 20 balls. He was named the Player of the Match.
