He mentioned that after matches, Khan would often encourage him and teammate Rinku Singh to dance, creating cheerful memories.

Indian pace bowler Shivam Mavi recently spoke to CricTracker in an exclusive interview, where he shared insights into his IPL journey and time with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He explained that he was with the team until 2023, after which the franchise let him go. The communication, according to Mavi, was handled in a respectful and professional manner.

“I had a conversation with Venky Mysore, sir, and he informed me that they wouldn’t be retaining me for the upcoming season. He was very encouraging and respectful during the discussion. Every team has its own needs, and maybe I didn’t quite fit into their plans at that moment. They explained their decision clearly, and I took it in stride as just another part of the sport,”Shivam Mavi Said in an Interview with CricTracker.

Looking back on his experience with KKR, Mavi recalled some fun off-field moments, particularly with team co-owner Shah Rukh Khan.

He mentioned that after matches, Khan would often encourage him and teammate Rinku Singh to dance, creating cheerful memories.

“Whenever Shah Rukh Khan came to watch our matches, he used to make Rinku (Singh) and me dance after the match,” he added.

In four IPL seasons with Kolkata Knight Riders, Mavi featured in 32 games and picked up 30 wickets. His most impressive showing came in the 2021 IPL season, which later paved the way for his inclusion in the Indian national setup a couple of years down the line.
