Ashton Turner Unbeaten On 99 BBL 2025-26: Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers faced each other in the 16th match of Big Bash League 2025-26. In this match, Perth Scorchers batted first and put a big score on the board. This included a stormy innings by captain Ashton Turner. He took the team beyond 200 runs by hitting fours and sixes and returned to the pavilion unbeaten. But due to a mistake by his teammate he could not score a century. Ashton Turner remained just 1 run away from the magical figure of 100 runs.
Batting first against Sydney Thunder, Perth Scorchers scored a strong score of 202 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. This score was largely possible due to the stormy innings of captain Ashton Turner, who scored unbeaten 99 runs in just 41 balls. During this period, 8 fours and 8 sixes came from his bat. That means Ashton Turner scored 80 runs only from boundaries during this innings. But there was amazing drama in the last over of the innings, due to which he missed the century.

Ashton Turner hit 2 sixes on the first two balls of the last over and reached the score of 99 with 1 run on the third ball. That means he needed 1 run to complete his century on the last 3 balls. But he could not get the strike back. Ashton Agar hit a four on the fourth ball of the over and was out on the fifth ball due to playing a big shot. If Ashton Agar had scored one run on any of these two balls, Ashton Turner could have completed his century. But Ashton Agar did not do this and then Joel Paris was also out on the last ball. Due to which Turner missed the century and returned unbeaten.
Scorchers did not have a good start in the match. The team had lost 3 wickets in the powerplay itself. Mitchell Marsh was out after scoring only 6 runs, while Finn Allen played an inning of 11 runs. Josh Inglis also returned to the pavilion after scoring 13 runs, leaving the team struggling at 34/3 in 5.3 overs. After this, Cooper Connolly and Ashton Turner made an important partnership for the fourth wicket. Connolly scored 28 runs in 27 balls, but Turner took charge from here. He completed his half-century in just 22 balls and then converted it into a big score.
