The first leg of the T20 World Cup is about to end. After this, the Super-8 matches will start from June 19, but before that, the game of some teams seems to be deteriorating due to rain. Sri Lanka's team has already fallen prey to this. At the same time, due to rain, England's team is also struggling to go to the Super-8. Now the rain can affect the Pakistan team. Pakistan is in Group A of the T20 World Cup and its remaining three matches are to be held in Florida. All these matches are under the shadow of rain. If any match is canceled due to rain, then the Pakistan team will be out of the group stage itself. Seeing this, Pakistan is in tension and now the former captain of the team Azhar Ali has made a plea to the ICC to avoid this.
If Babar Azam's team has to move ahead in the tournament, then it will need the 'Natural Law'. At present, nature does not seem to be in their favour. Nature may hit the Pakistani team as their matches may get cancelled. Now Azhar Ali, who was the captain of this team, has expressed concern. In view of the flood warning in Florida, he has demanded the ICC to shift the matches there through a TV channel.
Azhar said that ICC knows that rain can affect many matches. Therefore, it should take some steps and shift the matches to some other venue. Azhar criticized ICC's decisions and system. He said that already the pitch of New York is under question. Now if so many matches get cancelled, then more questions will arise.
Pakistan's team is at number three in the Group A table with 2 points from three matches. On the other hand, the Indian team has already qualified for the Super-8 from this group. That means now only one more team from this group can go to the next stage of the tournament. For this, America and Ireland's team are in the race along with Pakistan. However, Ireland still has two matches left but it is considered out due to net run rate.
The US team is at the second position with 4 points in 3 matches, while Pakistan can now reach a maximum of 4 points. If USA scores even one point, it will have five points and will go to the Super-8. Pakistan's team will play its next match against Ireland on June 16. Before that, Ireland has to play against the US on June 14. There is a risk of both these matches getting cancelled. If even one match gets cancelled, Pakistan's journey will end.
