However, now this record has been made by Sahil and he made the world record of the fastest century in just 27 balls against Cyprus.

He broke the record of West Indies legend Chris Gayle, who scored a century in 30 balls for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors India in IPL 2013. Sahil Chauhan played an innings of 144 runs in 41 balls in the match and during this time he hit only 6 fours but 18 sixes came off his bat, which is the record for the most sixes in a T20 International innings. He broke the record of Afghanistan's Hazratullah Zazai and New Zealand's Finn Allen, who had the record of 16-16 sixes in a T20 International innings. Hazratullah had done this feat against Ireland, while Allen had rained sixes against Pakistan.
