Sahil Chauhan Fastest T20I Century: The T20 World Cup 2024 is being organized in the USA and the West Indies. Meanwhile, apart from the tournament, some smaller teams are busy playing different series. Similarly, a 6-match T20 International series is being played between Cyprus and Estonia. In the second match of this series, Estonia registered a tremendous victory by 6 wickets and in this victory, the team's batsman Sahil Chauhan batted brilliantly and he played an unbeaten innings by hitting a tremendous century and made a world record in his name.
Estonia's Sahil Chauhan made the record of the fastest century in the fourth T20 International of his career and broke the record of Namibia's Yan Nicol Lofty Eaton, who scored 101 runs in 36 balls against Nepal during the Tri Nations T20 series last year and during this time scored the fastest T20 International century in 33 balls. However, now this record has been made by Sahil and he made the world record of the fastest century in just 27 balls against Cyprus.
Apart from this, Sahil has also made the record of the fastest century in overall T20. He broke the record of West Indies legend Chris Gayle, who scored a century in 30 balls for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors India in IPL 2013. Gayle played an unbeaten innings of 175 runs in just 66 balls in the match.
Sahil Chauhan played an innings of 144 runs in 41 balls in the match and during this time he hit only 6 fours but 18 sixes came off his bat, which is the record for the most sixes in a T20 International innings. He broke the record of Afghanistan's Hazratullah Zazai and New Zealand's Finn Allen, who had the record of 16-16 sixes in a T20 International innings. Hazratullah had done this feat against Ireland, while Allen had rained sixes against Pakistan.
Talking about the match, Cyprus batted first and scored 191/7 in 20 overs, in reply Estonia scored 194/4 in just 13 overs and won the match.
