Rashid Khan: India and Afghanistan (AFG vs IND) played their first match of the Super 8 stage against each other on Thursday. India won this match by a huge margin of 47 runs. After the match ended, Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan gave a surprising statement and praised himself a lot.
Rashid Khan became a flatterer
After the crushing defeat against India, Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan said during the post-match presentation that if his players had not made mistakes, they could have won this match. Rashid also praised his bowling. He said,
“We knew we had to chase 160-170 runs as it was a match against a big team. If we had played smartly, we could have done it. My bowling is going well, I struggled at the start of the IPL but now I am consistently bowling in the right areas. But at the end of the day it is the result of the match that matters the most.”
“We have enjoyed our cricket everywhere, but it is our mindset that matters. We forget our skills sometimes. If the conditions are favorable, we will look to use it.”
This is how the match went
Batting first, India scored 181/8 runs in 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav scored a half-century of 53 runs with the help of 5 fours and 3 sixes in 28 balls.
