T20 Welsh club Glamorgan faced Gloucestershire in the 59th match of the Blast 2024 season. In this close match between these teams, Gloucestershire won by hitting a six off the last ball. Gloucestershire needed five runs off the last ball to win the match and Josh Shaw gave his team victory by hitting a six off the last ball.
In this match, Glamorgan had high hopes from their star batsman Marnus Labuschagne but he flopped in this match too and was out after scoring 18 runs in 15 balls. However, when he was out, a funny scene was seen. In the 6th over of Glamorgan's innings, when the score was 42-1, fast bowler Matthew Taylor bowled a ball outside the off stump which touched the edge of Labuschagne's bat and the umpire raised his finger.
Labuschagne was out but despite being out, the Australian batsman kept staring at the umpire standing on the pitch instead of leaving the field. The umpire also did not tolerate this act of Labuschagne and then the umpire also asked Labuschagne to go to the pavilion by pointing his finger. Talking about this match between Glamorgan and Gloucestershire, despite a great effort, Labuschagne's team Glamorgan lost the match by two wickets. After deciding to bat first, Glamorgan scored 140/6 thanks to opener Sam Northest's 46* off 42 balls, Colin Ingram's 25 and Dan Douthwaite's 21 runs. Labuschagne also scored 18 runs off 15 balls. For Gloucestershire, Matt Taylor took 3 wickets for 21 runs in his 4 overs.
Chasing the target, Gloucestershire had a poor start and lost 5 wickets for just 45 runs. The fifth wicket fell to Ben Charlesworth, due to a brilliant fielding effort by Labuschagne. However, captain Jack Taylor's 70 runs in 48 balls proved to be a match-winning innings, thanks to which Gloucestershire defeated Glamorgan by two wickets and achieved the target on the last ball of the match.
