Former India player Navjot Singh Sidhu questioned the quality of England bowlers in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He commented in the ENG vs SA Super 8 clash of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks gave South Africa a good start, with the former amassing 65 runs off 38 balls, including 4 fours and 4 sixes.

“England don’t have match-winning bowlers like India. Apart from Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer, there is no one, who can take wickets for the English side. If you look at Team India, they have bowlers for every situation. England are lacking in this department. Their batting is also not upto the mark,” he said.

For the record, England are the defending champions and defeated the West Indies in their first contest of the next round. Meanwhile, England won the toss and elected to bowl first against the Proteas.

Line-ups:

England: Phil Salt, Jos Buttler (captain), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Reece Topley.

South Africa: Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram (captain), David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, Tristan Stubbs, Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Ottneil Baartman.
