Delhi: South African team's star wicketkeeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen has made a big statement on Friday ahead of the Super-8 match against England in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. He has described England as a very dangerous team. Also, the right-handed batsman has said that the South African team will try to secure its place in the semi-finals by winning the match against the British.
Speaking in the press conference before the match, 32-year-old Heinrich Klaasen said, “Yes, England had a very different tournament, with a lot of rain and matches being affected by rain, but they are a very dangerous team. They have many match winners and we have to keep this in mind and play our important moments better than them, but cricket is a fun game.”
The explosive batsman further said, “As we have seen throughout the World Cup so far, hopefully we can continue our trend of playing good cricket under pressure and it would be great if we, as South Africa, can win two out of two matches and hopefully secure our place in the semi-finals.”
There will be a tough match against England
Let us tell you that the team in green jersey has won all its 4 matches so far by close margins. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see how they perform against a strong team like England. The Super-8 stage match between South Africa and England will be played on 21 June, i.e. Friday, at the Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium in St. Lucia. It is expected that a mountain of runs can be seen in this match.
At the same time, South Africa would like to continue their winning streak, but the team led by Aiden Markram should not forget that England's batting is very strong and they also have many players who can finish the match.
