Delhi: Afghanistan created history by defeating Australia by 21 runs in the Super-8 Group 1 match played in Saint Vincent on Sunday in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Star all-rounder Gulbadin Naib bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets and played an important role in his team's victory. For this, he was awarded the Man of the Match award.

Gulbadin Naib has become the first bowler in T20 and ODI World Cup history to take four wickets as the eighth bowler. Afghanistan used eight bowlers in the match against Australia and Naib was their eighth bowler. Naib took the wickets of Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins.
