India have done well in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The team is undefeated, with impressive victories coming against Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. When the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee had named the squad for the global tournament, the omission of Rinku Singh was questioned by everyone. Although he was kept in the reserve category, the southpaw deserved batter.

Former India player Harbhajan Singh hasn’t moved on from the tough decision and he once again slammed the selectors for their call. The veteran felt that Rinku would have been an asset along with Hardik Pandya in the lower batting order.

Bhajji made the comment during the IND vs AUS Super 8 match. “I still don’t understand the exclusion of Rinku Singh from the team. For me, he should have been playing in the World Cup. He can hit sixes at will in the death overs and the team needs such players.

“I know the World Cup is about to end but Rinku sitting out doesn’t look good. He would have been sensational with Hardik Pandya,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.

Rinku has been named in the squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.
