The first semi-final match will be played between South Africa and Afghanistan on 27 June at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, which will start at 6 am Indian time. India and England will face each other in the second semi-final at 8 pm on the same day. This match will be held in Guyana.
Remember that in the last T20 World Cup held in 2022, India also faced England in the semi-finals, then the English knocked India out of the tournament by winning that one-sided match played at Adelaide Oval by 10 wickets.
Afghanistan created history
Afghanistan team wrote the most golden page in its cricket history and entered the semi-finals for the first time by defeating Bangladesh by 8 runs with the help of Duckworth Lewis rule (DLS) in the T20 World Cup Super Eight stage match. As soon as Naveen Ul Haq took the wicket of Taskin Ahmed on the fourth ball of the 18th over, the eyes of the players as well as the supporters present in the stadium became filled with tears.
This feat was achieved by the team of a country which is suffering from political instability and terror of war and which does not even have its own ground for practice.
This journey of Afghanistan is no less than a miracle. Now they will face South Africa in the semi-finals, while the match between India and England will also be very interesting. All eyes are now on these semi-final matches, which will decide the winner of the T20 World Cup 2024.
