Delhi: Afghanistan has become the fourth team to reach the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. On Tuesday, veteran leg-spinner Rashid Khan's team defeated Bangladesh in the Super-8 match in Saint Vincent and entered the semi-finals. Afghanistan has made it to the semi-finals of an ICC tournament for the first time. The people of Afghanistan rejoiced as soon as the team reached the semi-finals.

Chasing the target of 116 runs, Bangladesh's innings was often interrupted by rain, due to which they got a revised target of 114 runs in 19 overs under the Duckworth Lewis rule (DLS), but their team was all out for 105 runs in 17.5 overs and lost the match by 8 runs. The heroes of this 'historic' victory of Afghanistan were captain Rashid Khan and star fast bowler Naveen Ul Haq, who took 4-4 wickets each.

Till the last over, it was not certain which team would win the match because runs were less. In such a situation, when Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh in this nail-biting match and secured a ticket to the semi-finals, the Afghanistan players could not hold back their tears.
