The Indian team declared the first innings at a record 603 for six.

Australia had made this score in Perth this year, but India created a new record when Richa Ghosh (86 runs) hit a four off the first ball of Henry Dirksen in the 109th over.

The credit for this achievement goes mainly to Indian openers Shefali Verma (205 runs) and Smriti Mandhana (149 runs), who made a historic partnership of 292 runs, which is also the highest partnership for the first wicket in women's cricket. Jemima Rodrigues (55 runs), captain Harmanpreet Kaur (69 runs) and Richa contributed by scoring half centuries.
