Lucknow: Indian team's veteran batsman Virat Kohli's bat did not work during the entire tournament of ICC T20 World Cup 2024. However, in the final match played against South Africa in Barbados, Kohli showed why he is a big match player. When the Indian team was struggling after losing 3 wickets after scoring 34 runs, Kohli stood like a rock and held one end. Virat's slow half-century innings helped India reach a respectable score.

Kohli completed his half-century in 48 balls in the final match against South Africa and with this he has equaled the big record of Pakistan captain Babar Azam. In fact, the 35-year-old scored the 39th half-century of his T20I career against the Proteas. With this, he has equaled Babar's record. Azam also has 39 half-centuries in T20 cricket and now Kohli has reached equal to him.

Indian team captain Rohit Sharma is at the third place in this list, who has scored a total of 37 half-centuries in his T20 career so far. Apart from him, Pakistan's wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan is at the fourth place and he has done this feat 30 times. While former Australian opener David Warner is at the fifth place here and he has scored 29 half-centuries in his career.

In the summit clash against the African team, Kohli first handled the Indian innings and then hit some big shots in the end. The right-handed batsman faced 59 balls in this match and scored 76 runs. During this, 6 fours and 2 sixes came off his bat. With this, he played an important role in taking India to a score of 176.
