Indian cricket team who won the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup waited 17 long years to lift their second title. Indian cricket team under Rohit Sharma quenched the ICC trophy thirst which lasted since 2013.

The 2013 Champions Trophy is India’s last ICC trophy which they won under MS Dhoni’s captaincy. Nearly a decade later, Rohit Sharma rewrites history by lifting India’s second T20 World Cup trophy.

The T20 World Cup 2024 final has been played between the two unbeaten teams of the tournament.

Both India and South Africa have remained unbeaten throughout the 2024 T20 World Cup.

It is worth mentioning, that South Africa maintains a clean winning streak while India won seven out of eight games as one of the group matches against Canada was abandoned due to a wet outfield.

India defeated England in the 2024 semi-finals 2 and qualified for the grand final after the 2014 edition. At the same time, South Africa made their maiden T20 World Cup appearance.
