Batting icon Virat Kohli posts an emotional post for his wife, Anushka Sharma after India‘s triumphant victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 final. On Saturday, June 29, the Indian team defeated South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, to grab their second T20I title.

Kohli played a crucial role in India’s win, scoring a brilliant 76 off 59 balls after the team had been reduced to 34/3 in the powerplay. Following the early collapse of wickets, Kohli steadied the innings and guided India to a respectable total of 176/7, which ultimately proved sufficient as South Africa could only manage 169/8 in their 20 overs, handing India a seven-run victory.

Virat took on Instagram and wrote, “None of this would remotely be possible without you my love. You keep me humble, grounded and you always say it how it is with absolute honesty. The T20 World Cup victory marks the star batter’s first major championship win since marrying Bollywood actress in 2017. Previously, Sharma was frequently targeted by online trolls whenever Kohli performed poorly.

She was also referred to as ‘unlucky’ for the Indian team.

Kohli had hit back at his online trolls through a social media post, calling their behavior shameful. Since their wedding in 2017, the couple has been a pillar of strength for each other. Anushka was seen consoling Kohli with a warm embrace after India’s loss in the ODI World Cup 2023 final. After achieving his goal, the star batter did not forget to thank his wife for her support, acknowledging her efforts in a special post.
