Ambati Rayudu did not get enough opportunities in the Indian team. He would be seen in the Indian team for one series and then he would be dropped from the team in the next series. Despite scoring runs consistently in the middle order, Rayudu did not get a chance to play in the World Cup 2019. However, there is another player in the Indian team who has followed Rayudu's path. This player did not listen to the captain and coach, due to which this player had to be dropped.

This player is following the path of Ambati Rayudu

  • In the year 2023, Ambati Rayudu retired from international cricket including IPL.
Currently, he does commentary. On the other hand, the condition of India's opening batsman Ishan Kishan is also similar to that of Rayudu.
  • He has also been ignored from the Indian team. Apart from this, BCCI has also excluded him from the central contract in the year 2024. At present, his way back to the Indian team does not seem far away.

The coach and the captain did not listen to him

  • Actually, Ishan Kishan was sent on a tour to South Africa in December 2023. He withdrew his name citing mental fatigue and returned to India from South Africa.
  • After this, during the Test series played between India and England, coach Rahul Dravid asked him to clarify his availability in domestic cricket through a press conference.
Ishan refused to listen to Dravid and did not participate in the domestic tournament.
  • In such a situation, BCCI removed him from the central contract. Now Ishan will have to perform well in domestic tournaments and IPL to make a comeback in the Indian team.

Such has been the recent performance

  • After being away from the Indian team, Ishaan participated in IPL 2024.
No big innings came out of his bat in this tournament.
  • He scored 320 runs in 14 matches at an average of 22.86. During this period, he scored only 1 half-century.
