Fans have lambasted the Pakistan Cricket Board for using old fielding techniques to improve the skills of the national players. Pakistan were knocked out in the group stage of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and returned home from the USA leg. In a viral video, a few of the players were seen taking catches by diving on the old mattress. The fans called out PCB for poor training facilities.
Pakistan were below-par in the field during the T20 World Cup. The Pakistan side was defeated by the United States of America and India. They lost to the USA in the Super Over, while against India, Pakistan couldn’t chase 120.
Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan and Azam Khan were slammed by former players and fans for their fielding.
The fans questioned the facilities as Pakistan are one of the biggest earners.
PCB was criticised for sending the players to military camp ahead of the T20 World Cup. Pakistan players were seen trekking the hills with stones above their head.
