The Pakistan Cricket Board is unlikely to go for major changes in the team after the side’s dismal performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, as that could lead to problems with senior players. The decision makers of the apex body will meet on Saturday to discuss the reports submitted by the white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten and senior team manager Wahab Riaz.

But a source said only minor changes would take place and the same group would continue to represent Pakistan.

Naqvi had said that a “major surgery” was needed after the World Cup debacle.

“The reports by Kirsten and Riaz will help the PCB chairman Naqui to decide the next course of action. However, the PCB chairman doesn’t want any confrontation with the senior members of the team and he been advised to refrain from making big changes,” a source told PTI.

“The pressure from outside and within the system is immense and all talks about changes will not happen.. The same players will be in the team for the upcoming matches in all formats,” he added.

Pakistan will next play a two-Test series against Bangladesh followed by three Tests against England.
