Delhi: Recently, the Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma won the title of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating South Africa in the final. This final was played in Barbados. In this decisive match, India's young wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel was cheering for the South African team led by Aiden Markram.

23-year-old Dhruv, who has been selected in the Indian team for the Zimbabwe tour, said in an interview to Sony, “When I was watching the final match and cheering for India, the South African team came into the winning position. After that, I started cheering for South Africa, then India made a comeback. After that, I cheered for South Africa more and India won the final.”

Dhruv Jurel made his debut for the Indian team in Test cricket this year, but now he has got a place in Team India's new T20I squad. The right-handed batsman has played 3 Test matches so far, in which he has scored 190 runs at an average of around 64. His highest individual score is 90 runs. Jurel also has 1 half-century to his name. However, he has not been able to make his debut in white-ball cricket for India.

If we talk about his IPL career, he has scored 347 runs in 27 matches at an average of 23.13. During this, the middle-order batsman has scored 2 fifties. His highest score has been 56 runs. He is currently representing Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

It is worth noting that India won an ICC trophy after 11 years by defeating South Africa by 7 runs in the final. The blue jersey team led by Rohit created history by winning the final match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on the soil of the West Indies. Earlier, India had won the T20 World Cup in 2007.
