Delhi: Fans thronged the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday to celebrate the Indian team's historic win in the T20 World Cup 2024. During this, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) presented a cheque of Rs 125 crore prize money to Team India. In this special event, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid and Jasprit Bumrah shared their heartfelt feelings from the stage.
After the ceremony, the players interacted with fans, gave autographs and took selfies, which made the crowd extremely happy. The event started with the victory parade of the T20 World Cup winning team, which started from Marine Drive and ended at the Wankhede Stadium. Lakhs of cricket fans gathered at Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium in this parade, making it difficult for Team India's bus to move ahead.
Meanwhile, Indian captain Rohit Sharma said, “Mumbai never disappoints. We were given a warm welcome. The support of our fans is incomparable. We thank all the fans.” Meanwhile, when he praised star all-rounder Hardik Pandya for bowling the last over in the T20 World Cup final, that moment was the most memorable. Rohit said, “I appreciate Hardik for bowling the last over. It is not easy to handle the pressure that is there at that time.” On this, the stadium echoed with the slogans of 'Hardik! Hardik!' An emotional Hardik stood up and thanked the fans.
