Team India returned to the country on July 4 after winning the T20 World Cup in Barbados, where the Indian players participated in various programs from morning till night. A day after this, the players outside Mumbai left for their homes. Hyderabad resident Mohammad Siraj reached his city on Friday evening, July 5 and the people of Hyderabad welcomed their world champion like a hero.

Hyderabad showered love on its hero

Siraj reached Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad on Friday evening and a crowd of fans had gathered to welcome him here. While in Mumbai, the entire Indian team including Siraj took out a parade in the city in an open bus, in Hyderabad, Siraj came out of the sunroof of an SUV and kept thanking the fans for their love. During this, Siraj was hanging his World Cup medal, while his car was surrounded by fans from all sides. Flowers were raining on Siraj, while the tricolor was waving everywhere and fans were eager to take photos.

How was Siraj's performance?

Siraj did not get a chance to play all the matches during the T20 World Cup but he contributed fully in all the three matches of Team India in the group stage. Siraj got only 1 wicket in 3 matches but he bowled economically every time. Against Pakistan, the 7 runs scored by Siraj in the end proved to be the difference of victory. Also, he did not give Pakistan a chance to score many runs in the 18th over.
