Delhi: Zimbabwe cricket team's star fast bowler Blessing Muzurbani has expressed his desire to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was also selected by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as a net bowler for IPL 2022, but his stint with LSG was short. However, he has stressed that at the moment his focus is on the series against India and performing well for Zimbabwe.

Blessing Muzurbani, 27, said, “I am sure every cricketer would want to play IPL because it is one of the best leagues in the world and, you play against the best players, so everyone wants to play there.”

He further said, “So, of course, I would like to play in the IPL, but to get there we have to take many steps. That is to perform well and make sure that you can make a name for yourself in your country.”

Mujurbani said, “So IPL will be very good for me and my teammates, but we are not thinking about IPL right now. I was just thinking about how we can win this series, because we believe that we are capable of winning.”

Mujurbani called Gautam Gambhir a great person

After the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, former veteran batsman Rahul Dravid's tenure as head coach has ended. It is expected that former opener Gautam Gambhir can now replace Dravid. In such a situation, before the opening match of the five-match T20I series between India and Zimbabwe, Mujurbani has made a big statement about Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor Gambhir. He believes that the former opener will do a great job for the Indian team.

27-year-old Blessing Muzurbani said, “Yes absolutely, he is a great guy. He is cool. I mean he has achieved a lot in international cricket, so I don't see any reason not to bring him. He has everything to lead the team, so I think it will be great for India and for him as well that he starts working for them as the head coach.”
