Unmukt Chand, who led the Indian Under-19 team to World Cup victory in 2012, has made a spectacular debut in the current Major League Cricket.

Chand not only stole the limelight by scoring a half-century in his very first match for Los Angeles Knight Riders against Texas Super Kings, but also led his team to victory.

After being invited to bat first, the Knight Riders had a bad start, but Unmukt Chand held one end by batting brilliantly.

He scored 67 runs in 45 balls with the help of 6 fours and 3 sixes before getting out. During his innings, Chand thrashed all the bowlers of Texas Super Kings, but he took the fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq on remand a bit more. In one over of Naveen, Chand robbed 14 runs by hitting two fours and a six.

In the same over, Chand hit Naveen for a six that reminded fans of Suryakumar Yadav. Chand played a shot that Surya often plays during his innings. This shot was seen during the fourth over of LAKR's innings. After playing a brilliant lofted drive over square in Naveen's over, Chand played a brilliant pick-up shot.

It was a shot played in Surya style which connected well with Chand's bat and the ball went over square leg and out of the ground. You can watch the video of this brilliant six below.

After this, he hit another brilliant shot on the off-side field due to which Chand looted 14 runs from this over. Apart from Chand, Nitish Kumar contributed 26 runs. Due to which the Knight Riders scored 162 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Chasing the target, Super Kings could only reach 150 runs after losing 8 wickets. Opening batsman Devon Conway scored 53 runs in 39 balls, while Calvin Savage scored an unbeaten 29 runs in 18 balls.

But could not make the team cross the threshold of victory.
