Team India's defeat against Zimbabwe shocked everyone. Team India, full of young players, had to face defeat by 13 runs in the first T20 match against Zimbabwe. Team India's defeat was more surprising because the batting line-up full of explosive batsmen could not even achieve the target of just 116 runs. While some people trolled Team India on this defeat, some on social media did not pay much attention to it because the main players of Team India were not a part of it. But Congress MP from Kerala Shashi Tharoor compared this defeat to Pakistan's World Cup defeat.
Tharoor accused the BCCI and said that this defeat was due to taking things lightly.
Tharoor posted on the social media platform 'X' that while the echo of the grand celebrations in Mumbai on Team India's T20 World Cup victory had not yet died down, Team India was defeated by a small team like Zimbabwe. Tharoor said that BCCI, which takes things lightly, deserves this. Not only this, Tharoor compared the defeat of Team India to the defeat of Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. While praising Zimbabwe, Tharoor further wrote that whether it is 4 June or 6 July, arrogance has always come down.
Actually, on 4 June, in the T20 World Cup, Pakistan had to face a shameful defeat in the super-over at the hands of the new team America. Then the Pakistani team was accused of taking America lightly. So even while the echoes of the wild celebrations at Mumbai for Indias #T20WorldCup victory have not died down, we have been beaten by minnows Zimbabwe today in Harare. its just what @BCCI deserved for taking things for granted.

This first match of the 5-match series between India and Zimbabwe was a low-scoring one. In Harare, Team India bowled first and restricted Zimbabwe to just 115 runs. This target did not look too big in front of this team full of many young batsmen who created a stir in IPL 2024, but the Indian batting collapsed like a pack of cards and the entire team was bowled out for just 102 runs.
The next match of the series will be played in Harare on Sunday, July 7 and here Shubman Gill's team will take the field with the intention of equalizing.
