T20 World Cup Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma, who returned to India after winning the 2024, was felicitated along with other Indian players at the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan on Friday.

Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dubey were also present with Rohit during this time. After Rohit was felicitated, he also addressed the members of the Vidhan Bhavan and then his humorous style was also seen.

The members of Vidhan Bhavan welcomed Rohit with the slogan 'Mumbai cha Raja Rohit Sharma'. This atmosphere was exactly like the atmosphere during Team India's victory parade at Wankhede Stadium.

Rohit Sharma thanked Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar for honouring him with this special honour.

Meanwhile, during his speech at the Vidhan Bhavan, Rohit Sharma also pulled Suryakumar Yadav's leg. Rohit also joked about Surya's catch of David Miller. Rohit Sharma said, “After Surya caught the ball, he told me that the ball came in his hand. Thank God the ball came in his hand. Otherwise, I would have made him sit out.”

Rohit could not stop laughing after telling this joke which is going viral on social media. During the felicitation ceremony, both Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav spoke in Marathi. Reacting to Rohit Sharma's statement, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that if Suryakumar had not taken the catch in the last over, the whole country would have been disappointed.
