Ishan Kishan has not been selected in Team India for a long time. He was last included in the squad for the 2023-24 South Africa tour of Team India. But he returned to India midway through the tour. After this, he did not play for Jharkhand in Ranji Trophy 2024 as well. After all these incidents, the BCCI also dropped him from the central contract. His name was not even considered again in the T20 World Cup 2024. Ishan has now given a big statement on all these developments.

Why did Ishan Kishan take a break from Team India?

Ishan Kishan played for India against Australia in November last year and since then he has been out of the team.

Recently, while talking to the Indian Express, he has given the reason for taking a break from Team India. Talking about the South Africa tour, Ishan Kishan said that I was scoring runs and then I found myself on the bench. These things keep happening in team sports. But I was feeling travel fatigue. This meant that something was wrong, I was not feeling well and so I decided to take a break. However, sadly no one understood it except my family and some close people.

Family supported me in bad times

Ishan Kishan also told that when he took a break, his family supported him.

Ishan said that a player can deal with the things said by outsiders. The stress you get is how your parents take it. How they deal with it. At that time, my family members were very supportive. They supported me and my decisions. They understood that I was not feeling well. They understood my situation. They never questioned it and never left me alone.

International career has been like this so far

Ishan Kishan has played in all three formats for Team India. He has played 2 Tests, 27 ODIs and 32 T20 matches for the Indian team so far.

He has scored 78 runs in Tests, 933 runs in ODIs and 796 runs in T20s. The special thing is that Ishan has also scored a double century in ODI cricket.
