India defeated Zimbabwe by 100 runs in the second match of the 5-match T20 International series with the help of brilliant innings of Abhishek Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad. With this, the series was tied at 1-1. In this match played at Harare Sports Club, Harare, India captain Shubman Gill won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, India scored 234 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma scored the highest 100 (47) runs for the team. In his first century, he hit 7 fours and 8 sixes. Ruturaj Gaikwad played an unbeaten half-century of 77 (47). In his innings, he hit 11 fours and a six.
Abhishek and Gaikwad shared a 137(76) run partnership for the second wicket. Rinku Singh scored 48(22)* runs. In his innings, he hit 2 fours and 5 sixes. Gaikwad and Rinku shared a 87(36)* run partnership for the third wicket. Wellington Masakadza and Blessing Muzarabani managed to take one wicket each from Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe came out to chase the target and the entire team was all out for 134 in 18.4 overs. Wesley Madhevere scored the most runs from Zimbabwe's side. He scored 43 runs in 39 balls with the help of 3 fours and a six. Brian Bennett scored 26 runs in 9 balls with the help of 1 four and 3 sixes. Luke Jongwe scored 33 runs in 26 balls with the help of 4 fours. Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar took the most 3-3 wickets from India's side. Ravi Bishnoi took 2 wickets. Washington Sundar took one wicket.
