After losing their skipper Gill in the second over, Abhishek Sharma stitched a 137-run stand with Ruturaj Gaikwad in just 76 balls for the second wicket, helping India recover. Abhishek smashed a record 46-ball hundred, blasting seven boundaries and eight sixes. Gaikwad scored 77 off 47 balls, with 11 fours and a six. Later, Rinku, who was part of the T20 World Cup reserves, joined Gaikwad and scored a blistering 22-ball 48 not out, as India amassed 234/2 in 20 overs.
