After playing his last international match against Afghanistan (IND VS AFG) on 17 January 2024, Washington Sundar has been given a chance to play for Team India after 170 days.

Washington Sundar played his first T20 match for Team India against Sri Lanka in 2017. Washington Sundar made his international debut for Team India at the age of only 18 years and 80 days. Due to which Washington Sundar is the youngest player to debut in the T20 format for Team India.
