T20 World Cup-winning 15-member squad, including skipper Rohit Sharma, and head coach Rahul Dravid to reportedly get Rs 5 Crore from the cash reward given by BCCI following Team India's success at the show-piece tournament in the USA and Caribbean.
  Rohit-led Team India defeated South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final by seven runs at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 29. After the long-wait for title was ended, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a significant cash prize for the team. BCCI General Secretary Jay Shah shared the news on X, stating, "I am pleased to announce prize money of INR 125 Crores for Team India for winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024." Team India received the award as promised during a grand felicitation ceremony on Thurdsay (July 4) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Now, a report clarifies on how the cash award will be divided among the winning group. According to a report in Indian Express, the remaining coaching group will get Rs 2.5 Crore each, while the backroom staff will get Rs 2 Crore each from BCCI's cash reward for the Indian team. The report also adds that the reserve players and the members of the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar will get Rs 1 Crore each following the team's T20 World Cup triumph.

  • Rs 1 Crore Each - Ajit Agarkar, Shiv Sunder Das, Subroto Banerjee, Salil Ankola and Sridharan Sarath (selectors); Rinku Singh, Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed (reserve players)
