Team India's victory parade in an open bus got a lot of love from thousands of fans who came out on the streets. Now all the players have returned to their respective homes and they have got a great welcome there too.

Maldives invited Team India

Everyone was expecting all this but hardly anyone would have thought that any other country would talk about celebrating this success of Team India. But this has happened and this has been done by Maldives, a country in the Indian Ocean.

Maldives, which was in the news a few months ago due to its deteriorating relations with India, has invited the World Cup winning Team India to its country for a holiday.

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation and Maldives Association of Tourism Industry have jointly invited the world champion team India to visit their country. This joint statement states that it will be an honor for them to host Team India and celebrate this victory with them. While inviting Team India, the statement states that full care will be taken to provide the players with a comfortable, memorable and pleasant experience when they come to Maldives.

Maldives started quarreling with India

In the last few years, Maldives has emerged as a major tourist destination. Its popularity has increased especially among Indians and every year the largest number of tourists visiting Maldives are Indians. Despite this, in January this year, there was a sudden confrontation between the two countries. Then some ministers of the Maldives government made fun of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Lakshadweep and his appeal to promote tourism here on social media.

This uproar soon became the reason for distance in the relations between the two countries and the Indian government had registered its objection to such statements. After that thousands of Indian tourists had cancelled their tour to Maldives. However, in recent months, relations have improved a bit and only last month, the President of Maldives attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 9 June.
