Indian stars Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey join Trinbago Knight Riders for Women’s Caribbean Premier League 2024

The Trinbago Knight Riders have signed two star Indian women cricketers Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey for the Women’s Caribbean Premier League 2024. Additionally, the TKR squad will feature Australian batter Meg Lanning and left-arm spinner Jess Jonassen

Additionally, five of their Caribbean players have been retained by the inaugural Women’s CPL champions. The Women’s CPL 2024 is scheduled to run from August 21st to August 29th.

In an attempt to win the second title, the Trinbago Knight Riders have added more dynamic talent to their lineup.

Shikha and Jemimah are currently representing India in the all-format series against South Africa.

Jemimah expressed her excitement about competing in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League, stating that the tournament would serve as valuable preparation for the upcoming Women’s World T20 in October.

“I’m thrilled to be making my WCPL debut. While I’ve played extensively for India in the Caribbean, this will be my first time representing the Knight Riders in the WCPL, and I’m really looking forward to it,” stated Jemimah.

“The TKR Women’s have a glorious legacy.

As a proud side, their participation in this tournament will provide excellent preparation for the upcoming Women’s World T20 in October, which will feature some of the world’s top players,” she added.

In a statement, KKR group CEO Venky Mysore expressed that the inclusion of Rodrigues and Shikha will enhance the overall quality of the tournament. He also thanked the BCCI for granting KKR their first appearance in the WCPL.

“The sigining of Jemimah Rodrigues and Shikha Pandey will raise the bar of the upcoming tournament. We are deeply grateful to the BCCI for allowing them to play in the WCPL.
