Ever since Team India won the T20 World Cup, there is an atmosphere of excitement and celebration among the cricket fans of the country. Team India finally gave the Indian fans, who were waiting for the joy of winning the title for a long time, the sweet fruits of patience. There were two big reasons for this happiness - first, Team India won an ICC trophy after 11 years. Second, the two biggest stars of the team, captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, retired from T20 International, realizing the dream of winning the World Cup. Now, like most of the players of the World Cup winning team, both these stars are also currently on a break, but now Indian fans may have to wait a long time for their return.

After defeating South Africa in the T20 World Cup final, star batsman Kohli announced his retirement from T20 International. Shortly after him, captain Rohit also announced his decision in a press conference. This means that now both these legends will not be seen in the T20 series, so it will take time for the fans to recover from the habit of watching them play continuously and now fans will get a chance to see both of them only after breaks in between. This time the wait is going to be longer.

Virat-Rohit will stay away for two and a half months

Looking at the busy schedule of Team India in the last few months and the more busy schedule to come, it is certain that fans will have to wait for about two and a half months to see Virat and Rohit playing for Team India again. Yes, something similar is going to happen this time. The reason for this is Team India's current series. After the World Cup, Team India full of young players has gone to play a T20 series in Zimbabwe. After this, a T20 series will be played on the Sri Lanka tour from July 27.

Due to retirement, the possibility of Virat-Rohit playing in both these series was already over.

Apart from T20, ODI series is also to be played on the Sri Lanka tour, but considering the importance of this series, it seemed difficult for Virat-Rohit to play. Now this seems to be proved true in the latest reports as well. It has been claimed in the PTI report that from September onwards, Team India will play several Test series continuously, after which the Champions Trophy is also to be held next year. In such a situation, it is almost certain that Rohit-Virat will be given maximum rest and hence they will not play in the Sri Lanka series as well.

When and where will you return?

Now the question is when will these two superstars return? So let us tell you that Virat-Rohit will now return directly in September. After the ODI series against Sri Lanka ends in early August, Team India has no other series. After this, the Test series between India and Bangladesh will start directly from September 19. Virat and Rohit will return with this series. After this, they will play 3 Tests against New Zealand, then 5 Tests on the Australia tour, then 3 ODIs against England in January-February, after which they will stake a claim for the title in the Champions Trophy 2025.
