The Bengaluru police have filed an FIR against the manager of the One8 Commune Pub, which is co-owned by cricketer Virat Kohli, for operating past the closing deadline. The case was registered at the Cubbon Park police station against the Virat Kohli co-owned establishment located on Kasturba Road in Bengaluru.

Virat Kohli’s co-owned venture, One8 Commune, operates locations in several major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Kolkata. The Bengaluru branch, which launched in December last year, is situated on the sixth floor of Ratnam’s Complex on Kasturba Road, near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) stated that 3-4 pubs were booked for remaining open past the 1 am closing deadline, despite complaints about excessive noise.

According to the FIR filed at the Bengaluru Cubbon Park Police Station, “The One8 Commune pub at Kasturbha Road was spotted functioning and serving guests at 1:20 am, after the closing time on July 6th.”

Last year, a man from Tamil Nadu claimed on social media that he was denied entry into the Mumbai branch of One8 Commune restaurant because he was wearing a “veshti.” He voiced his disappointment with the bias he encountered at the restaurant.

In a separate incident, the Virat Kohli-owned restaurant chain made headlines when the Delhi High Court ordered it to stop playing songs copyrighted by Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL).
