Delhi: The Indian team took time out from the game and visited wildlife with their families and support staff ahead of the third match of the five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe.
The official 'X' handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared pictures of the tour and wrote, “BCCI in association with Zimbabwe Cricket and Zimbabwe Tourism organised a Wildlife Tour for the Indian Cricket Team and their families in Harare.”
Team India will become stronger with the inclusion of Sanju Samson, Shivam Dubey and Yashasvi Jaiswal. These three players were part of the Indian team that won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 played in the USA and West Indies. Due to the delayed return from Barbados, the BCCI had included Sai Sudarshan, Jitesh Sharma and Harshit Rana in the Indian team for the first two T20 matches.
Sudarshan made his T20 debut in the second match, but he did not get a chance to bat. The Shubman Gill-led Indian team registered a spectacular 100-run win over Zimbabwe and leveled the five-match series 1-1. The host team defeated the young Indian team in the first match of the series. The third T20 match between India and Zimbabwe will be played in Harare on Wednesday, July 10.
It is worth noting that this wildlife tour would have given a new energy and freshness to the Indian players in the middle of the series. Now the team is ready to play the third match, in which they will try to win and take the lead in the series.
Abhishek Sharma scored a brilliant century
Indian team's explosive left-handed opening batsman Abhishek Sharma scored a brilliant century in his second T20I match. He completed his century in 46 balls in the second match of the series played in Harare, which included 8 sixes and 7 fours. With this, he set a series of records in T20 International.
