Those who have closely followed Gautam Gambhir's career know how he thinks and works. Gambhir's views on any issue are very clear. Whether someone likes them or not, whether they are right or wrong according to someone, Gambhir expresses his views openly. If in his view any of his work or any thing is absolutely right, then he sticks to it. These things have been seen during his entire cricket, commentary and mentorship career. Now something similar can be seen as the head coach of Team India. That is, he can be seen trying to run things according to his own will even in the dressing room, something similar to what was seen about 9 years ago, when a coach had to resign due to his alleged opposition.

On July 9, BCCI announced Gautam Gambhir's name as the new coach of Team India. With this, curiosity has increased whether he will maintain the same aggressive attitude in the dressing room of Team India full of many superstar players, as he has been showing as captain and mentor in IPL, or in his commentary and interviews. Amidst these questions, an old incident has also come to the fore again, which shows Gambhir's clear thoughts.

Gambhir was upset with Jadeja becoming the coach

This is from 2015, when Gambhir was almost out of Team India and then he was made the captain of Delhi for the Ranji Trophy season.

While Gambhir was made the captain, former veteran all-rounder Ajay Jadeja was made the coach of the team. This was simply unbearable for Gambhir and there was a reason for it. Gambhir believed that he cannot share the dressing room with a person who is accused of match fixing. Jadeja was banned for 5 years in the match fixing scandal that happened in the early 2000s.

Practice started only after resignation

It is said that during that time Gambhir kept coming to Delhi's practice camp but he did not practice in the nets for 3 consecutive days.

Then on the fourth day, he started coming to practice only after Ajay Jadeja resigned. However, this was never spoken openly then and Jadeja had told the reason for his resignation as the appointment of assistant coach by Delhi and District Cricket Association without his opinion, but inside everyone knew that Gambhir's opposition was also a big reason for this. When former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin, who was banned for match fixing, was asked to ring the bell before the match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata in 2018, Gambhir had also expressed surprise at this.
