Team India: The Indian team is currently on a tour of Zimbabwe. The third match of the 5-match T20 series being played between Zimbabwe and India (ZIM vs IND) will be played on Wednesday. The new head coach of the Indian team has been announced during the Zimbabwe series itself. Now after Rahul Dravid, former player Gautam Gambhir will take over the post of head coach of Team India.

BCCI has selected Gambhir for the post of head coach on 9th July. Gambhir will now join the Indian team for the series to be played against Sri Lanka. Now, as soon as Gambhir becomes the head coach, his neighbour may return to the Indian team.

Indian team's head coach Gautam Gambhir will now join the team for the T20 series against Sri Lanka starting July 27. Whereas now after Gambhir becomes the head coach, Nitish Rana may return to Team India.

Because, Nitish Rana has played domestic cricket from Delhi and has shared the dressing room with Gambhir for many years. While Nitish Rana is also a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the IPL and Gambhir was also the mentor of the KKR team in IPL 2024. Due to which Nitish Rana can get a chance in Team India and can make a comeback after almost 4 years.

Let us tell you that after the Zimbabwe series, Team India has to tour Sri Lanka. Where a series of 3 T20 and 3 ODI matches will be played between Sri Lanka and India. The series with Sri Lanka is to start from July 27 and the ODI series is to start from August 2.
