Jadeja retired after India's T20 World Cup 2024 win leaving a crucial spot open for grabs.
Sundar, who won the Player of the Match award in the 3rd T20I vs Zimbabwe on Wednesday, was asked about the same. The SRH off spinner said that he was focused on performing well for India by giving his 100 percent.
Sundar added that he wanted to give his all in every single training session and in the matches that he played.

"I need to do well where I am good at and what I am capable of, especially with my preparation. I need to give my 100 per cent every single day. That's something that I have not compromised on," Washington said in the post-match press when asked whether he is ready to seal the spot in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja.
Sundar, who lost his place to Nitish Kumar Reddy in the SRH line-up in the Indian Premier League's 2024 season, said that he was confident in his abilities with both bat and ball.
Sundar's skills with the ball were evident today as the spinner slowed things down to extract help from the pitch, which rewarded him with 3 wickets for just 15 runs in his full quota of 4 overs.
"It (preparing well) keeps me in the present and obviously I am very confident as well (about his skills). It's a great opportunity for me to play for India, and I am blessed with it," he added.
"I need to keep my job consistently and keep preparing and keep getting better. That way everything will be taken care of," Sundar concluded on the matter.
India completed a clinical win over Zimbabwe in the third T20I as they beat them by 23 runs on Wednesday, July 10 at Harare Sports Club, Harare.
After opting to bat first, India posted a good score of 182/4 in their allotted 20 overs courtesy of a brilliant half-century from captain Shubman Gill (66 off 49). In reply, Zimbabwe could only finish on 159/6 in their 20 overs.
