The next ICC tournament is the Champions Trophy and it will be hosted by Pakistan. For this, the Pakistan Cricket Board has also given some kind of schedule proposal to the ICC, according to which this tournament will be held from 19 February to 9 March. But the BCCI does not want to send Team India to Pakistan. The Indian team has not visited Pakistan since 2008. In such a situation, another big update has come out.
The Indian cricket team is unlikely to go to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. According to the report, the BCCI may ask the ICC to host the matches in Dubai or Sri Lanka.
This information has been given to ANI by BCCI sources. Relations between India and Pakistan have not been good for a long time. In such a situation, the final decision on this matter will depend on the central government. Due to this, no series is played between the two teams, matches are played between India and Pakistan only during ICC tournaments and Asia Cup.Pakistan also got the hosting rights of Asia Cup 2023. But even then the Indian team did not visit Pakistan.
The tournament was hosted in a hybrid model. Four matches were played in Pakistan and the rest in Sri Lanka. Team India played all its matches in Sri Lanka and the final was also held here. In such a situation, BCCI can propose a hybrid model to the ICC this time too.According to the draft schedule, Team India has to play all its matches in Lahore. Team India will play its first match against Bangladesh on 20 February. After this, it will play its second match against New Zealand on 23 February. At the same time, India will play its third and last match of the group stage against the tournament host and its arch-rival Pakistan on 1 March.
