Zimbabwe test squad: Zimbabwe is busy playing a 5-match T20 International series against India at home.
Zimbabwe started this series with a bang and managed to defeat Team India in the very first match. However, after this India made a strong comeback and defeated Zimbabwe in the next two matches and took a 2-1 lead in the series. After this series, Zimbabwe has to play a Test match against Ireland, for which the squad has been announced on Friday. Zimbabwe has also given a chance to uncapped players for the Test against Ireland, out of which 3 are also part of the series against India.Zimbabwe has announced a 15-member squad for the only Test to be held in Belfast from 25 to 29 July. Many regular players have got a place in this squad. At the same time, Clive Madande, Brian Bennett and Jonathan Campbell along with Joylord Gumbi have also got a chance as uncapped players. Apart from Gumbi, the other three players are also part of the squad selected for the T20 series against India.
Apart from the four uncapped players mentioned above, Zimbabwe's squad also includes many experienced names.
Craig Ervine will be the captain of the team. Sean Williams will also be seen. Both these players are not part of the current T20 series. Apart from this, Tendai Chatara, Blessing Mujarabani, Victor Nyauchi and Richard Ngarava are also present in the Test squad, who will not let there be a lack of experience in the team.Let us tell you that Zimbabwe played its last Test match against West Indies in Bulawayo in February 2023.
