Events head Chris Tetley and general manager of marketing and communications Claire Furlong have resigned after questions were raised on the poor planning of the T20 World Cup held recently in West Indies and America.

According to media reports, many ICC members had raised questions about the organization of T20 World Cup 2024. The matches held in America have cost more than the budget and the officials want to know the reason behind it. At the same time, Associate Member Director Pankaj Khimji has written a letter to all the members and demanded an audit of the expenses incurred during the event.

The US also got the hosting rights of the T20 World Cup for the first time. However, the kind of response the ICC had expected from there, the kind of support it received from the fans was not there. The ICC spent more than the budget to attract the fans but it did not yield any benefit.

The officials of American cricket are also not happy with their participation in the ICC World Cup. They said in their statement, 'During the tournament, money was spent everywhere without any foresight.' A temporary cricket stadium was built in New York's Nassau County by spending crores of rupees to host 8 cricket matches. Despite this, many questions arose about the arrangements and pitch there. To compensate for this loss, the ticket prices were also increased. Still, the expenses could not be recovered. To avoid the displeasure of the board members, Tetley thought it appropriate to resign.
