Amit Mishra, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League, recently opened up on Virat Kohli’s ugly argument with Naveen-ul-Haq during the 16th season of the tournament.
After his verbal slugfest with the pacer, Kohli was seen fighting with the then LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir. The situation could have turned nasty had other players not intervened. Kohli and Gambhir were fined100 percent of their match fees by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Naveen was also sanctioned.
Mishra, who knows Virat for years, was miffed with the star batter for his behaviour.
“Gautam Gambhir showed a bit of aggression, which Virat didn’t like. He started abusing all our players. Kohli said something to Kyle Mayers without any reason.
“He took on Naveen. Kohli was not leaving anyone. He also made different gestures towards the fans. Kohli could have easily avoided it,” Amit Mishra said on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast.
Virat and Naveen resolved their differences during the IND vs AFG match in the 2023 ODI World Cup. On the other hand, Kohli spoke to Gambhir in the KKR vs RCB game during the Indian Premier League 2024.
